May 12, 2014 – With its reZOOvenation project schedule in full swing, the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park had its best attendance day in 7 years this past weekend. On Sunday, May 11, approximately 1,300 people visited the 139 year old facility. This included 378 moms who were admitted free for Mother’s Day as guests of the nation’s fifth oldest zoo.
“The community participation and support is appreciated,” stated zoo director Steven Contento. “We hope this positive sign is typical of more days to come. Much is happening at the zoo this season and we’d like everyone to be a part of it.”
