2017 Courtship Tails
MAKEUP DATE: 2/25
Have you ever wondered how a red panda chooses its mate or how a penguin shows love to its other half? Come to Courtship Tails at the Binghamton Zoo to learn about these and other unique mating rituals of animals at our zoo and around the world!
Courtship Tails is a humorous adults-only Valentine’s Day event held at the Binghamton Zoo that highlights animal facts and rituals that relate to courtship and mating. Couples will be escorted by a tour guide throughout the zoo in a heated van, all while talking about courtship displays and amusing animal mating facts. Stops at Wolf Woods and Woodland Waters will allow guests to enjoy coffee, desserts, and wine tasting. Each tour will go on a special behind the scenes stop with our African penguins and snow leopard, Tushar!
Tours will be held on February 11th and 12th, at 10:30 am, 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, and 3:00 pm. Each tour lasts approximately an hour and a half and includes the guided tour, behind the scenes visit to the snow leopard and penguin back up areas, dessert foods, drinks, a commemorative framed photo to take home, and a $30 gift certificate to enjoy a relaxing dinner with your sweetheart at a local restaurant.
Tours are limited to four couples, and reservations are required for Courtship Tails. Tickets are $125 for non-member couples and $110 for member couples. Guests must be 21 years or older. Limited walking will be required, but we encourage you to dress warm.
Courtship Tails features information that ranges from warm and fuzzy to informative and risque! Please call the Binghamton Zoo at (607) 724-5461 ext. 235 with any questions or to reserve your spot today. You may also use the online form below to register for the event.
