The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park is excited to announce Jacqueline Peeler as its new Executive Director.

Jackie is returning to the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park where her zoo career began in 1984. She graduated from Whitney Point High School and attended both Broome Community College and SUNY Binghamton. She started her career at the Binghamton Zoo as a volunteer, and in 1986 started as a visitor services associate and seasonal zookeeper. Jackie climbed the ranks to become a full-time zookeeper, then interim vet technician, and finally a senior zookeeper.

After her time at Binghamton, Jackie moved on to the North Carolina Zoo and the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Illinois as a zookeeper. In 1999 she took the position of Assistant Director and General Curator at the Henson Robinson Zoo in Springfield, Illinois and accepted the position of Director in 2014.

Jackie has begun her (second) journey with the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park on January 16, 2017, taking over for interim director Steven Contento.

Binghamton Zoo members and visitors will be able to meet Jackie on Grand Opening Day and Members Only Night, both scheduled for Saturday, April 22.

The Binghamton Zoo is located at 60 Morgan Road in Binghamton, NY. For more information, call (607) 724-5461 or visit the zoo website at rossparkzoo.com.
